Short’s Travel Management, a leading provider of NCAA Athletic travel for collegiate athletics has a immediate opening for an Account Executive with it’s STM - Charters team. Our Charters team provides meaningful travel related solutions for sports teams, corporations, executives, entertainment tours and group and leisure travelers. What You Can Expect In This Role
As Account Executive for STM Charters, you will be primarily responsible for the maintenance and growth of an assigned book of business, providing customers with guidance in selecting charter air carriers, negotiation, and collection of carrier charter bids, completing lower-level Operational duties as designated by your Team, and assisting in 24-Hour service required for the successful oversight of client’s charter flights. This role will also play a role in cross marketing efforts by assisting other STM services lines, ie. Driven/Stay/TMC, with team introductions as needed.

- Sales maintenance and growth of a dedicated book of business as assigned by STM Charters leadership.
- Utilize knowledge of the charter industry and exhibit a consultative, educated approach in all customer interactions.
- Solicit, organize, and negotiate air carrier charter bids on behalf of assigned clients, paying specific attention to changing market conditions.
- Build client requests into Stack.Aero (our aviation specific Salesforce platform) within 24 hours of receipt and begin sourcing within 48 hours of receipt.
- Provide charter air solutions to clients within 48 hours of receipt for single trips and within seven days for season-long flight programs.
- Coordinate with STM Charters’ Contract Coordinators to ensure successful execution of air carrier and client contracts.
- Complete client-facing operational duties, as required, leading up to travel.
- Collaborate with other Short’s Travel employees to provide 24x7x365 monitoring of the client’s charter flight needs.
- Represent Short’s Travel Management and STM Charters in a professional manner.
- Assist with NCAA Championship Travel, as required by company and division leadership.
- Demonstrate a curious mind and willingness to learn new skills, with a commitment to the continuous improvement of STM Charters’ product and operational offerings.
- We are a team at Short’s Travel Management; as such, you may be expected to assist in other departments or handle tasks outside of your typical position scope for the benefit of our clients or company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with five to seven years’ experience selling air charters preferred.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of airline/aviation operations.
- Understanding of the nuance of collegiate athletics and athletic travel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Customer-service orientation; a self-starter with the ability to focus on goals without constant direct leadership or oversight.
- Some travel required.
- 2 years of full-time experience working in a collegiate athletic department. Experience booking and executing team travel or team charter flights, is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Experience with Salesforce a plus.
- Ability and willingness to learn new programs/processes that may be adopted moving into the future.
- Remote work sites must have dependable high-speed internet and dedicated workspace.
