POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you are responsible for assisting the Relationship Managers (RM) in providing a comprehensive analysis of credit information resulting in recommendations to assure the quality of additions to the loan portfolio. You will perform comprehensive credit analysis on new and existing credit relationships including identifying both risk and opportunities inherent in relationships and making recommendations on the credit worthiness to the RM and/or concurring authority. In this role, you will provide guidance and training to the Business Banking and Commercial Credit Analysts. As a representative of the Bank, you are required to present a positive and professional image at all times.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a similar field, or a combination of related training and/or experience required
  • 10 years of work experience in an accounting, commercial lending, or commercial credit analysis field preferred

  • Possess a strong attention to detail
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of financial statements and tax returns in order to determine cash flow and identify potential risks and mitigating factors
  • Ability to identify relevant risks and appropriate mitigating factors to those risks
  • Possess a working knowledge of legal entity structures and interrelationships
  • Possess strong people skills and communicate professionally to various levels of staff

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive credit analysis on new and existing credit relationships including identifying both risk and opportunities inherent in relationships and making recommendations on the credit worthiness to the RM and/or concurring authority
  • Maintain a working knowledge of lending regulations and the Bank’s loan policy and procedures to facilitate the underwriting of commercial, business, and consumer loans
  • Assist RMs on customer calls and collateral inspections as needed
  • Provide guidance and training to the business banking and commercial credit analyst(s), to further their ability to perform their job functions, which may include supervisory authority
  • Provide backup to the consumer and business underwriting duties as needed
  • Assist the Commercial Credit Officer as needed
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
  • Actively support the ongoing development of a culturally diverse workforce
  • Complete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial

Physical Requirements

This position largely operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with management and employees. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position operating a computer for extended periods of time is common. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones.
