Now Brewing – senior manager, product, Performance Team (Hybrid – U.S.)! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

The Menu Insights, Performance, and Scale-up (“MIPS”) team delivers strategic product recommendations rooted in business, customer, and partner intelligence that focus on portfolio optimization and aim to drive sustained growth in sales and margin. We sit at the heart of our business, steering decisions around what we sell and ensuring that our product assortment remains efficient—we shape the makeup of our product portfolio, setting the direction for new products coming in and recommending products to exit

As a senior manager, product in MIPS, you will play a key role in several vital aspects of the business…

  • Leading analyses of product performance, including new launches and seasonal LTOs, determining how our products resonate with customers, and whether they benefit our business and generate efficiencies across our portfolio.
  • Creating structured presentations that leverage insights to tell a compelling story with impactful recommendations, and crafting the narrative of our business performance to influence how our executive leadership interprets sales results.
  • Identifying new data-based opportunities to grow our portfolio and determining the parameters and success criteria for new product launches.
  • Partnering closely with marketing teams and product owners to ensure final product concepts are appropriately developed to target identified customer opportunities.
  • Playing an integral role in supply chain investment decisions to support sales of our most critical products; recommending how much product we should buy to support sales while appropriately balancing inventory risk with profit upside.
  • Steering day-to-day operational decisions to get our products into customers’ hands, identifying strategic questions/opportunities and partnering with cross-functional teams to resolve real issues that impact our stores.
  • Serving as a beverage and food subject matter expert with cross-functional teams to drive effective discussion and decisions around portfolio strategy and prioritization.
  • Being a thought leader for the marketing and product teams and a mentor to junior partners.
