The Atlantic seeks an Associate, Talent & Culture for our Washington, DC office.

This position is responsible for the smooth operation of our Washington, DC office (located at The Wharf) and corporate team. The ideal candidate is outgoing, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating a warm and functional work environment for our colleagues. The person in this position will diligently tend to recurring responsibilities of the role and thrive at prioritizing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Talent And Culture Responsibilities

You should be a self-starter, motivated by the satisfaction of a highly functional office, and eager to assist colleagues with the same motivations. Strong communication skills are essential. This role will report to The Atlantic’s Office Manager. They will also work closely with and support the SVP of Talent & Culture, General Counsel, SVP of Communications, and Chief Financial Officer (and their respective teams). The Associate, Talent & Culture will work across three primary areas:

  • Work with Talent & Culture teams that lead the Benefits, Compliance, DEI, and Operations functions.
  • Support the larger Talent & Culture team with Workday projects.
  • Completion of I-9 verification for all employees whose first day is in the DC office.

Executive & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage processing of all vendor bills and executive expenses for the Legal, Talent & Culture (HR), and Communications departments via Workday and track spending against retainer agreements,
  • Serve as administrator of enterprise AdobeSign account used across Company for archiving signed contracts and other corporate documents, including creating user accounts and troubleshooting user issues.
  • Support Legal and Talent and Culture departments in procurement and documentation of employee visas.
  • Support management of Company’s intellectual property portfolio (assisting in USPTO trademark searches, copyright research, and drafting correspondence for copyright enforcement).
  • Support Legal and Finance departments in interfacing with registered service agents and tracking and maintaining requisite state registration.
  • Providing research to support press opportunities; building and updating press lists; and gathering press clips and reports.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scheduling.

Concierge Responsibilities

  • Remain present and available at the reception area during regular office hours, as this will be your primary workspace.
  • Ensuring a friendly and smooth check-in process including registering guests ahead of time with building security.
  • Maintain clean common areas in the office throughout the work day. Actively seeking items that will need attention and cleaning.
  • Daily office maintenance includes loading and unloading the dishwasher, redistributing glasses and dishes across both office floors, restocking office supplies and snacks, etc.
  • Assist with daily office catering set-up and clean-up.
  • Manage a mail-distribution process to manage shipping, receiving, and circulation.
  • Proactively keeping the Office Manager up to date regarding necessary office improvements, repairs, and maintenance issues.
  • Create a list of frequently asked questions and support documentation for the office.

This role is based in Washington, DC and on-site 5 days a week.

Annual Compensation Minimum: $66,000; Annual Compensation Maximum: $66,000
