Description
The Associate Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of projects under the guidance of a Project Manager, eventually managing their own projects. This role is ideal for individuals early in their project management career who are looking to build foundational experience in managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
Position Duties, Responsibilities, And Competencies
TALKING: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
REPETITIVE MOTION: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)
WORKING CONDITIONS
NONE: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
Mental Activities And Requirements Of This Position
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Able to deal with very difficult concepts and complex variables.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to use advanced algebra, exponents, logarithms, linear equations, quadratic equations, mathematical induction and binomial theorem, permutations, calculus, and/or analytic geometry.
Able to perform basic statistical calculations including frequency distributions, reliability and validity of tests, normal curve, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, chi-square application and sampling theory and factor analysis.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
Ability to conduct training, communicate at panel discussions and to make professional presentations.

Position Duties, Responsibilities, And Competencies
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project team.
- Track project progress, update status reports, and maintain project documentation.
- Coordinate tasks and deliverables among team members, ensuring timely completion.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including vendors, and internal teams.
- Identify and escalate risks or issues to the Project Manager for resolution.
- Support the implementation of project management tools and processes.
- Participate in project meetings, taking notes and following up on action items.
- Works a regular and predictable schedule.
- Must be sufficiently fluent in English to process work and business transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in project coordination or a related role (internships acceptable).
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or Asana).
- PMP or CAPM certification is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with credit union operations, regulatory requirements, and member service priorities is a plus.
