Position Summary

The Instructional Development Manager is responsible for the design and development of new courses and revisions of existing courses to support hands-on skill-based training for industry, supporting National Technology Transfer, Inc. (NTT). For over 30 years, NTT has successfully trained over a half million skilled trades’ professionals. NTT works with Fortune 500 manufacturers as well as many states, local governments, and educational institutions.

Responsibilities include scheduling of content development, training and launch, with a strong emphasis on project management, to ensure timely availability and delivery of high quality, effective course materials. Internally, this role collaborates with key stakeholders such as executives, business development personnel, SMEs, and instructional technologists to ensure seamless integration of quality content delivered through multiple modalities.

Annual salary range - $80,000 - $95,000 commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop measurable learning objectives, assessments, and instructional materials, including multimedia content such as videos, animations, and interactive lessons.
  • Apply adult learning theory to the instructional design of online courses to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to guide course development projects, facilitate communication among team members, and coordinate meetings to ensure timely progress.
  • Train SMEs on course development processes, tools, and best practices for online instruction.
  • Create and manage project schedules and deadlines for course deliverables.
  • Review, gather, and submit supplemental curriculum materials in coordination with SMEs.
  • Ensure documentation and course content adhere to institutional standards, formats, and quality guidelines.
  • Update course content as needed in response to changes in textbooks, software, or institutional requirements.
  • Work with publishers to secure required materials for course development.
  • Communicate development issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate external development solutions for feasibility and maintain relationships with vendors as needed.
  • Share and promote best practices for designing engaging discussions, activities, and learning strategies that support diverse learning needs.
  • Adhere to ECPI/NTT development policies and procedures throughout all phases of the instructional design process.

Education/Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or significant college course work, preferably in a communication, education or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, eLearning, or related field
  • 3-5 years of multimedia development experience
  • Multimedia development experience
  • LMS experience such, Canvas, or other LMS systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and multimedia course development tools, such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate
  • Experience developing instructional videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, or other video tools.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with multiple business units in the college, trade school and seminar training environment.
  • Strong multimedia and graphic skills
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Previous skills-based program experience.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively
  • Strong time management skills and detail-orientation
