Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Utah Mammoth are looking for a Jr. Motion Designer with a passion for sports and all things motion to join their creative team. As a Junior Motion Designer at the Utah Mammoth, you'll be creating animation and motion graphics for all touch points of the brand, including in-arena game presentation, broadcast, social, and more, executed at a high level demanded by the NHL and its fans. You will be collaborating with other members of the creative team to conceptualize, design, and execute graphics for events and general use throughout the season and off-season. This is a full-time, on-site position in Sandy, UT.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and execute motion graphics for use across the brand in both 2D and 3D and across a wide variety of screen sizes and purposes
  • Propose ideas, and iterate based on feedback
  • Execute deliverables for different uses based on given creative direction
  • Maintain brand guidelines and consistency, but also recognize opportunities for creative exploration
  • Work independently on a wide variety of projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with other motion designers, graphic designers, editors, photographers, & creatives
  • Engage with the creative team to share and research new ideas
  • Identify gaps in current assets and opportunities for improvement
  • Keep up to date on current trends and relevant technology

Requirements

  • A body of work that showcases motion and design skills
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
  • Experience with Cinema4D, Unreal Engine, and/or Houdini
  • Familiarity with expressions within After Effects is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented and able to execute under tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, and design
  • Knowledge of the NHL is preferred but not required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design, animation, or related field is preferred
  • Availability to work nights and weekends

Physical Demands

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
