Description

Astrana Health is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Manager, Clinical Performance to lead medical cost containment and clinical incentive performance initiatives across all IPAs and lines of business, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Commercial.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with data, skilled at identifying trends, and committed to turning insights into cross-functional action. You’ll collaborate with teams across Utilization Management, Case Management, Finance, Contracting, Provider Relations, Quality and Care Delivery to ensure strategy translates into measurable outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and monitor initiatives that reduce medical spend and support clinical incentive performance across Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Commercial lines of business
  • Translate performance data into actionable insights related to inpatient utilization, emergency department overuse, SNF/hospice spend, specialist leakage, and other key drivers
  • Track and communicate progress on clinical incentive programs, ensuring relevant teams understand performance gaps and what’s needed to meet goals
  • Support implementation of interventions such as:
    • High-cost case oversight and coordination
    • Observation vs. inpatient status workflows
    • Network direction and leakage reduction
  • Use advanced Excel and basic SQL skills to extract and analyze data from internal and external platforms
  • Maintain initiative trackers and performance dashboards; support scenario modeling and progress reporting
  • Coordinate with internal teams and health plans to align on performance goals and program execution
  • Ensure follow-through on clinical performance priorities across functional stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Health Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in managed care, clinical operations, or performance management
  • Strong understanding of clinical cost drivers and value-based care incentive programs (e.g., HEDIS, STAR, QIP)
  • Comfortable working with data — advanced Excel skills required, and basic SQL or ability to learn
  • Experience using PowerBI preferred
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, track progress, and drive follow-through

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where the expectation is to work both in office and at home on a weekly basis.. This position will report to our Monterey Park corporate office at 1600 Corporate Center Drive.
  • The target pay range for this role is: $100,000 - $130,000. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
