We are seeking a strategic and business-focused Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (VP FP&A) to lead the company’s financial planning, pricing, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis. This role will be responsible for driving executive decision-making, capital allocation, pricing strategy, and automation of financial processes to support the company’s long-term growth objectives.

The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis will work closely with senior leadership to develop insights that optimize revenue, improve operational & fleet efficiency, and enhance overall business performance. The ideal candidate will be an analytical and results-driven leader with deep experience in FP&A, pricing strategy, and analytics.

COMPENSATION

This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards, consisting of a salary base pay plus bonus.

While our ideal candidate will be based in Fort Wayne, we will consider outstanding remote applicants who demonstrate a strong ability to work independently and effectively communicate with a distributed team willing to travel to Fort Wayne 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Architect multi-year financial roadmaps that reflect our company's strategic direction.
  • Break down complex financial concepts for senior leaders while ensuring resources flow to our highest priorities.
  • Develop business-focused financial insights and reports. Build models to evaluate and stress-test new opportunities against various market scenarios.
  • Guide the FP&A team to be trusted advisors to business partners. Run monthly reviews, spotlight potential risks, and craft & pitch compelling executive presentations.
  • Develop strategic vision for annual financial planning frameworks with attention to actionable insights, accounting standards, and data integrity safeguards.
  • Develop lean process transformation roadmap that balances automation opportunities with collaborative workflows for Finance to implement across recurring operations.
  • Provide executive-level financial insights to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Performance Management & KPI Development
  • Develop a robust metrics system that captures critical financial and operational success indicators across the business.
  • Create executive-level reporting that transforms data into actionable business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to build automated visualization tools that deliver real-time performance insights for revenue centers and operational departments.
  • Craft compelling financial narratives supported by data for executive and board audiences.
  • Track revenue streams, cost patterns, and profit drivers to strengthen financial health and support sustainable expansion.
  • Pricing Strategy & Revenue Optimization
  • Design and roll out a comprehensive pricing approach that maximizes earnings across all business segments.
  • Lead pricing system architecture, sales tool integration, and profit enhancement programs.
  • Work alongside Sales and analytics teams to sharpen pricing decisions and transaction value.
  • Create market-responsive pricing structures that support strategic business goals.
  • Capital Allocation & M&A Support
  • Conduct capital expenditure analysis and ROI validation to optimize fleet investments.
  • Support M&A due diligence, financial modeling, and integration planning.
  • Work with the CFO and Treasurer on strategic financing initiatives, including debt and equity financing.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead & develop a high-performing FP&A team, including Corporate Finance & Pricing functions with expansion for regional and functional FP&A partnership.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline reporting and forecasting processes.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between Finance, Sales, Ops, Fleet, HR, and BI teams.
  • Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for finance team members.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE
  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance, preferably in an asset-intensive or rental business.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, with a track record of building and scaling finance teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and capital allocation.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver presentations, effectively communicating results, key messages, and strategic insights to executives and board members.
  • Experience with pricing strategy, margin optimization, and profitability analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, data warehouses, BI visualization, and automation tools.
  • Strong business acumen, executive presence, and ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Ability to report to our corporate office in Fort Wayne, IN at least 50%

  • Experience in fleet rental, transportation, or manufacturing industries.
  • Background in pre-deal M&A financial modeling and strategic planning.
  • Technical expertise in BI tools, automation, and predictive analytics.
