General Description Of The Position

The primary responsibility of the Technical Trainer is to develop and implement unique training for the participants in the implementation of our Land Management Building/Code Enforcement Software solutions to meet the needs of our municipal customers.

This is a small team environment where individual contribution, collaboration, and communication are critical for success. The Technical Trainer interacts with customers to interpret processes and procedures of the departments and users involved and provide best-practice information and customized training to achieve successful implementation and use of the Land Management Software.

The individual works to ensure a quality, positive customer support experience by leveraging several internal products and applications, and by working across departments to access information related to supplementary customer products.

The Technical Trainer is also responsible for supporting several other internal standard processes which may include pre-sales proposal development, pre-sales product demos, project management and scheduling, preparation of service and installation reports, and customer analysis and documentation.

Essential Responsibilities Or Tasks Performed

  • Traveling to customer sites for training in Land Management application
  • Project management of the training aspects of customer experience
  • Working with Land Management software developers and internal Land Management Technical Experts to incorporate unique training approaches for each municipal installation
  • Documentation both for training purposes and for internal usage
  • Answering questions and resolving problems for end users via phone or Internet connection related to training on the Land Management software
  • Serving in a pre-sales role by assisting the Sales team with demos and needs assessments
  • Working with Pre-Sales and Marketing to develop training tools (handouts, monthly tips, how-to videos, etc)

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience in creating and implementing unique software training – one-on-one, classroom and online.
  • Experience working within local government operations especially municipal building departments
  • Technical and/or Project Management certifications a plus
  • Ability to develop, understand and clearly articulate solutions for clients both verbally and in written form
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Personal values that match our corporate values
  • Willingness to travel

Work Environment And Physical Demands

This is an office environment with a moderate noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand while reading and typing on a computer. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
