Employment Type: Full Time | Monday - Friday, 7:30a-4:30p
Pay Rate: $17+/hour (pay is based on requirements and experience)
Location: Lawrence, KS
As a Transportation Specialist, you'll do more than drive — you’ll build relationships, ensure the safety and comfort of participants, and be a daily point of connection for the seniors we serve. You’ll be the friendly, dependable link between our participants’ homes and our PACE center, making a meaningful difference every single day.
Midland Care’s Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a not-for-profit health care program that helps people at risk for needing nursing home care who meet a level of care requirement stay in their own homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver’s License (within 30 days of hire for out of state licenses), current automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization’s insurability standard as defined by Midland policy. These must be current at hire and remain in effect throughout employment. Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen. Must continue to pass these throughout employment. Must have a current DOT physical at all times. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position. Due to insurance company requirements, must be 25 years of age or older. Preferred : Prior driving experience. One year of experience working with a frail (elderly or disabled) population.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, courteous, and timely transport for PACE participants to and from the center and medical appointments
- Assist participants in and out of vehicles using proper lifting and safety techniques
- Maintain accurate daily logs and ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and meet regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with the care team regarding schedule changes, participant concerns, and vehicle issues
