Description

Job Summary:

Tanner Clinic is seeking a motivated and hard-working Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic podiatry team at the Layton Parkway campus. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial-minded provider to build and manage their own patient clinic while working in coordination with Gary Oaks, D.P.M. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in lower extremity anatomy and care, excellent communication skills, and a desire to grow their own practice.This role is centered on providing independent, high-quality patient care with a focus on sports medicine, supplemented by essential at-risk and wound care services. You will have the autonomy to develop your own patient panel while benefiting from the support and collaborative environment of a well-established clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, operating an individual clinic schedule.
  • Manage a diverse patient caseload with a practice breakdown of approximately 65% sports medicine, 25% preventative at-risk foot care, and 10% wound care.
  • Independently perform patient examinations, formulate diagnoses, and execute treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in appropriate medical billing and coding to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided.
  • Actively work to build and expand your patient clinic.
  • Direct and supervise clinical staff, including medical assistants, secretaries, and patient liaisons, to ensure efficient clinic flow and excellent patient care.
  • Participate in a shared call rotation, which has historically been minimal (fewer than 5 actual calls per year).
  • Obtain and maintain active credentialing at local area hospitals.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Current, unrestricted Utah PA license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Proven ability to function independently and make autonomous clinical decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of general lower extremity anatomy and pathology.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience or a strong, expressed interest in podiatric medicine, sports medicine, or general lower extremity care.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with patients and lead a clinical team.
  • A driven, hard-working professional with a proactive desire to grow a successful clinical practice.
