Position Title: General Dentist

By delivering compassionate treatment, educating patients on preventive practices, and collaborating closely with team members, this role helps build a healthier community and ensure that every patient receives dignified, comprehensive care. This clinic is an NHSC-approved site for loan repayment.

Qualifications
- DDS, DMD or DD degree from an accredited dental school.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice dentistry, required by start date.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Cultural competence and responsiveness to a wide range of diverse communities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Patient Care:
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, diagnose oral diseases and conditions.
- Provide preventive care, routine cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, and limited root canal treatments.
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients (and parents/guardians when applicable) on proper oral hygiene, treatment options, and preventive dental care practices.
- Provide clear instructions for post-treatment care and answer patient questions regarding oral health.
- Treatment Planning:
- Develop and communicate individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other dental and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Medication and Recordkeeping:
- Prescribe medications when appropriate and document all prescriptions accurately.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and consultations.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Adhere to infection control protocols, HIPAA regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational policies.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and strength sufficient to operate dental instruments and equipment.
- Occasional lifting of supplies and small equipment may be required.
