The Opportunity
The Memphis Grizzlies are looking for a Public Safety Dispatch Officer to protect the FedExForum, promote and enforce safety and security, and act as a visible deterrent against irregular activity. You will assist in 24/7 security for the arena as well as event-related security.

The Memphis Grizzlies are looking for a Public Safety Dispatch Officer to protect the FedExForum, promote and enforce safety and security, and act as a visible deterrent against irregular activity. You will assist in 24/7 security for the arena as well as event-related security.
In This Role You Will
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Recognize and report signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
- Report in detail, written and verbally, any suspicious incidents.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Operate CCTV and access control systems.
- Oversee the threat monitoring system.
- Manage centralized radio communication system.
- Distribute, collect, and inventory shift equipment (ex. radios).
- Conduct screening of employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
- Oversee the restricted areas of the dock.
- Communicate with responsible parties, deploy security or service assets.
- Document and submit shift reports regarding incidents, tasks, activities, notes, and other pertinent information.
- Conduct threat detection monitoring (ex. weather, social media, and open-source data).
- Work odd hours, to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of all security posts with the capability to exercise good judgment in a professional manner at each position.
- Conduct pedestrian and vehicle patrol for the building interior and external perimeter (as needed).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- High-School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of related experience.
- Must be able to meet minimum requirements for the license eligibility for the State of Tennessee Private Protective Services.
- Must be able to meet qualifications for license renewal under the State of Tennessee Private Protective Services every 2 years.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
- At least 2-3 years of emergency services/law enforcement dispatch experience.
- Working knowledge of security operations and/or safety practices.
- Security license.
- Working knowledge of safety equipment.
