The Credit Analyst ensures the financial stability of the organization by managing cash application, customer collections, and credit risk within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on accurately applying incoming payments, resolving discrepancies quickly, and customer aging within target levels. The analyst collaborates with internal teams and customers to address billing disputes, provide credit evaluations, and deliver actionable AR reports to support decision-making. By optimizing processes and mitigating financial risk, the Credit Analyst contributes to strong cash flow and operational efficiency.

The analyst collaborates with internal teams and customers to address billing disputes, provide credit evaluations, and deliver actionable AR reports to support decision-making. By optimizing processes and mitigating financial risk, the Credit Analyst contributes to strong cash flow and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Proactively manage overdue accounts to maintain customer aging within company targets.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve billing disputes, ensuring timely escalation and detailed documentation for unresolved issues.
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly AR aging reports with actionable insights, including trend analysis and recommendations for improving collection performance.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness during onboarding and periodically for existing accounts, ensuring compliance with credit policies and recommending appropriate terms.
- Partner with sales, customer service, and finance teams to address at-risk accounts and align on strategies to mitigate financial risk.
- Track and report key metrics (e.g., bad debt percentage, AR turnover) to support data-driven decision-making by leadership.
- Continuously refine cash application and reporting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and value for stakeholders.
- Aid in the accurate application of incoming payments accurately and promptly to customer accounts, resolving discrepancies (e.g., deductions, short payments) within 48 hours.
- Basic technology skills, including familiarity with data entry, spreadsheets, and foundational Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., formulas, formatting).
- An ability to understand and work through business processes with guidance, demonstrating curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze basic data and identify patterns or issues.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills suitable for internal and external correspondence.
- Ability to conduct simple research and follow through on tasks to gather necessary information.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take direction and complete tasks efficiently; reliable and eager to build new skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a structured work environment.
- Proficient use of office equipment including, but not limited to, a personal computer, phone, fax machine, copy machine, and scanner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
- Prior experience with SAP is a plus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, use hands to operate computer, phone, and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a similar field.
- 3+ years of experience in cash, treasury, collections, or other finance-focused areas preferred
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated to expand knowledge and drive change.
- ERP system experience (e.g. SAP).
- Experience in a corporate environment.
- The employee will experience normal working conditions where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, and other related elements.
