Darigold is seeking a motivated Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our NEW Pasco Plant. This role is pivotal to ensure the quality and safety of the finished goods we produce. This role's main function is to administer plant policies and procedures relating to quality and food safety. This person will also supervise the lab technician team as directed by the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager through performance, monitoring and development of quality systems and procedures.
As a leader of the Quality Assurance team, a person must be an example of the desires and abilities to contribute to the overall success of the plant. Our plants create nutritious products 24/7, 365 days a year. What You Will Do
- Perform records review, monitor compliance to specifications, methods, and procedures, GMP, HACCP and food safety programs. Ensure compliance through sampling and testing of all relevant processes and materials.
- Environmental and sanitation monitoring by conducting and directing the associated programs.
- Perform and monitor laboratory equipment calibrations.
- Lead team of laboratory technicians in quality analysis.
- Monitor plant quality data and analysis.
- Supervise and conduct laboratory functions and operations in all facets of analytical testing and support for in-process and finished product analysis.
- Train and review of methodologies, SOP’s, performance, and techniques of hourly employees.
- Implement and conduct routine laboratory calibrations of instruments to assure accuracy and repeatability of test results.
- Finished product evaluation to include packaging review and finished product integrity. Ensure all analytical and production check frequencies are being met.
- Weights and measures verification to include scale checks and documentation.
- Conduct internal audits to verify compliance to WSDA, USDA and FDA requirements.
- Conduct routine plant inspection to verify compliance to regulatory requirements from milk receiving to shipping of finished products.
- Carries out additional duties as assigned
- 2-3 years of experience in Dairy or Food Quality assurance with preference given to those with a B.S. Degree in Food/Dairy Science/Microbiology or an associated discipline
- 1+ year(s) of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in plant Quality
- HACCP certification
- Self-motivated
- M.S. of Food Science
- Experience in food plant sanitation.
- PQCI certification, SQF certification, Internal auditor training, Food defense coordinator training
