Position Overview
With a clear understanding of the overall organizational strategy, influences and supports the design of Sutter Health’s brand and creative execution of the brand in print and digital media. Collaborates with creative services teams and oversees multiple projects and all phases of artistic design research, planning, development, and implementation, as directed, to ensure timely completion of high-quality, cost-efficient design projects. Provides direction to photography working with outside vendors on photoshoots. Stays current on the latest techniques and technology, and then applies that knowledge to creative strategy, as well as the organization’s use of digital and interactive media. Plays a lead role in the creation and organization of design templates and library assets. Works proactively with the Internal Creative manager to recommend new expressions of the brand in static and interactive media. Proven ability to translate complex concepts into compelling visuals that resonate with audiences and drive client engagement. Eager to contribute to a forward-thinking company by providing expert design guidance and innovative creative solutions.
Job Description
This is NOT a remote role. The candidate selected for this role must live in the Northern California Sutter Health footprint and come on site 2-3 days a week or as needed for work, meeting etc.
Education
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Pay Range is $31.43 to $45.58 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.

- Bachelor's: Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field
- 10 years recent relevant experience
- Graphic design skills that focus on a diversity of graphic design projects and experience in project management, publication layout and pre-production work , including a demonstrated knowledge of color theory, composition, typography, logo and brand development.
- Expertise in design of print collateral, digital info graphics, and other multimedia assets, including direct mail, multiple page publications such as brochures and reports, ads, posters, displays, signs, banners, giveaways, invitations, programs, etc. as demonstrated by a portfolio.
- In-depth knowledge of printing procedures, photography, illustration, and exceptional attention to detail with time management skills, interpersonal communications skills and effective problem-solving skills.
- Solid analytical, negotiation, and project management skills, including the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of web site structure and functionality, including working knowledge of ADA requirements for design and posting to the web.
- Expertise in current design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and knowledge of PC standards for file conversion, including the ability to design multi-dimensional Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. Able to create iconography and animate short social media graphics for online publications.
- Work independently, as well as be part of the team, while demonstrating organization skills: Managing multiple priorities/projects simultaneously, sometimes with rapidly changing priorities, maintaining production schedules, adhering to strict budgets, and meeting tight and often conflicting deadlines, work within established guidelines and policies.
- Make judgment decisions and recommendations relating to design, budget and the selection of printing or other vendors.
- Analyze possible solutions using precedents, existing departmental guidelines and policies, experience and good judgment to identify and solve standard problems.
- Build collaborative relationships with peers, other departments, stakeholders, agencies, and vendors to achieve marketing goals and corporate objectives.
- Ad agency experience preferred but not required.
