The California Center for the Arts, Escondido is looking for a skilled Technical Supervisor to join our award-winning Technical Workforce Program, dedicated to training the next generation of theater technicians in Southern California.

As Technical Supervisor, you'll work closely with our Technical Director to manage productions in a multi-stage environment, supervise union and non-union crews, and support the development of interns and early-career technicians. This is an excellent opportunity for a leader who thrives behind the scenes and is passionate about technical theater, education, and safety.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Supervise and train IATSE, non-union staff, and interns
• Manage production elements for events and performances
• Support compliance with safety standards and labor laws
• Assist with educational outreach and intern development
• Provide technical support across various stage disciplines (lighting, sound, rigging, etc.)

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of technical theater and production management experience
• 3+ years in a supervisory role, preferably in a roadhouse or multi-use venue
• Strong knowledge of stage systems, safety protocols, and crew leadership
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
