Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a variety of activities including: special events, community-sponsored, and internal programs to meet the hospital's goals and objectives.
  • Assume lead role in coordinating internal and external events to increase Scottish Rite awareness and foster relationships within the community
  • Tracks all event expenses and maintain a cost-effective budget
  • Interfaces with community, masons, donors, trustees, patient families, as well as hospital staff to provide public awareness information and accept financial gifts and non-monetary donations on behalf of the hospital
  • Provides support in raising awareness through effective written communications
  • Represents hospital in a professional manner to individuals, corporations, and community organizations outside the hospital
  • Serve as project support to the Director of Special Events as well as other Special Events Officers
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of equipment use
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others to achieve common goals and contribute to the effectiveness of the team.
  • Must demonstrate a passion for doing what’s right for the organization.
  • Must be able to seek and understand customer needs and know how to satisfy them.
  • Must be assertive individual who takes initiative and leads by example.
  • Must be a person who transforms an event through hard work, have a drive for excellence, and have a positive personality that creates enthusiasm and expectations for success.
  • This staff member may be required to perform other reasonably related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or related field is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in meeting and event management
  • Must also be an assertive individual who takes initiative and leads by example; be a person who transforms an event through hard work; have a drive for excellence; and have a positive personality that creates enthusiasm and expectations for success
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • Must work well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong contract negotiation/budget/financial management skills
  • Must: possess strong communication skills; work cooperatively with others to achieve common goals and contribute to the effectiveness of the team; demonstrate a passion for doing what’s right for the organization; be able to seek and understand customer needs and know how to satisfy them
