DescriptionThe Quality Control Chemist is responsible for quality control in-process testing that supports the chemical manufacturing operations at the Greensboro site. The role interfaces with other departments to ensure timely completion of analysis at the facility, which includes operating various types of equipment and instrumentation, preparing/conducting analysis, testing product quality, and performing a variety of laboratory procedures.

Please note: This role operates on night shift and provides support for both off-hour and weekend coverage, interested applicants must be available for weekends and shift work. Job Details

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Analyzes samples using various instruments and wet chemical analysis techniques as detailed in approved and validated test methods
  • Follows GMP guidelines and utilizes good documentation practices in recordkeeping, including laboratory notebooks and forms
  • Uses technical knowledge in the review and interpretation of data for conformance to specification and/or real-time recognition of aberrant data and results
  • Prepares laboratory reagents, standards and mobile phases as needed to support analytical testing requirements
  • Interprets, computes, records and reports all test data to production and other appropriate personnel with the use of Labworks
  • Alerts production and Quality management when suspect test data or other deviations from the norm are encountered
  • Evaluation and reporting of analytical results in a reasonable amount of time is an integral part of the sample analysis process
  • Monitors product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications
  • Provides technical support and assistance to chemists, engineers and operations
  • Performs routine equipment calibrations and/or maintenance
  • Complies with and implements safety standards
  • Performs investigations for deviations to help resolve quality problems at the Greensboro facility
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science field is required
  • 0-5 years of analytical laboratory experience with bachelor’s degree
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results
  • Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Labworks and SAP is preferred
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
