Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering & Cloud Operations to architect and lead our engineering strategy, platform architecture, and cloud infrastructure operations. You’ll drive critical decisions and implementations across infrastructure, backend systems, web, and mobile applications, while ensuring robust cloud operations leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and engineering strategy for infrastructure, backend, web, and mobile platforms.
- Oversee GCP cloud operations, including Cloud Logging, Monitoring, Security Command Center, Secret Manager, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and Cloud Armor.
- Architect, implement, and maintain our microservices platform using Node.js, NestJS, Go, Python, Postgres, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ.
- Enforce best practices around authentication, authorization, and application security posture.
- Manage large-scale containerized deployments using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and containerd.
- Lead Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) strategies leveraging Terraform and ArgoCD.
- Collaborate closely with teams to support mobile/web application development using Flutter, Firebase, React.js, and TypeScript.
- Guide technical integrations involving advanced AI/ML technologies (LLM, LangChain, LangFuse).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, architecture, and cloud operations, including 5+ years managing engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in GCP infrastructure and services (Cloud Logging, Monitoring, SCC, IAM, Cloud Armor).
- Proven experience designing and scaling microservices-based architectures (Node.js, NestJS, Go, Python).
- Strong knowledge of modern CI/CD practices and infrastructure automation (Terraform, ArgoCD).
- Experience deploying and managing production applications using Kubernetes (GKE), containerd.
- Demonstrated ability to architect secure systems, including best practices for authentication, authorization, and security compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with proven success guiding technical teams and mentoring engineers.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-have):
- Experience with mobile/web development frameworks (Flutter, React.js, Firebase).
- Background integrating AI/ML technologies, specifically LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangFuse).
- Relevant certifications: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or similar.
- Healthcare or health-tech industry experience.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Supervises Engineering Leads and Cloud Operations Teams.
