As a Financial Analyst reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will play a crucial role in enhancing business decisions by employing strategic data analysis and ad-hoc modeling. Your involvement in the financial planning and reporting process will be instrumental in ensuring informed and efficient decision-making.
You will collaborate cross-functionally to provide actionable insights, contributing to the continuous improvement of financial strategies. Your proficiency in creating financial models and interpreting accounting and operational data will be vital in delivering comprehensive reports and recommendations, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.

Responsibilities
- Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial status
- Develop predictive financial models to support organizational decision making
- Analyze processes to identify gaps that can improve profit margins
- Establish benchmarks for financial processes
- Track current financial data to alert stakeholders in case of deviation
- Provide guidance in buying or selling stocks, making investments and generating funds
- Study industry-specific research and available data to predict trends
- Create reports that enable management teams to make strategic decisions to meet business goals
- Prepare financial documentation to support company funding initiatives and investor readiness
- Develop forecasting tools and methodologies to automate financial data analysis
- Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation
- Work with databases and data warehouses to extract and transform data
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
- Experience working as a financial analyst, ideally within the property and casualty insurance industry
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT)
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently analyze and interpret financial statements
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong skills in building financial models and presentations
- Experience with financial systems and databases, especially NetSuite and NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB) preferred.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent reporting, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work with large datasets
- Strategic thinking and organizational skills
- Proven analytical and financial modeling skills
- Experience supporting state expansion efforts in the property & casualty insurance industry is preferred
- 3 years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience
