This critical role will oversee a large, high-performing team responsible for full-life-cycle recruitment and strategic workforce consultancy across all disciplines, including allied health, nursing, physician, scientist, and administrative roles. The successful candidate will be a strategic thought leader, driving transformational recruitment initiatives and leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency and quality during a period of accelerated expansion and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be engaging, collaborative, and results-driven, with recent experience in Talent Acquisition as well as automation and technology within the healthcare sector.
The Vice Chair is accountable for the development and execution of HR strategy by providing leadership, vision, strategy development, market relevance and technical expertise to HR departments site and/or enterprise function. Functions as a leader in achieving implementation of an HR service delivery model which is responsive to and supportive of the organization and practice/business needs, goals and objectives. Serves in a leadership role providing strategic direction, vision, and guidance in the integration of HR strategies, operations and services in order to advance and align strategy with talent to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of inter-relationships and dependencies of functional areas and how to enhance people, financial, quality and overall top performance. Leads future oriented strategies that support Mayo’s “category of one” position in alignment with Mayo Clinic’s vision. In partnership with HR functions, ensures oversight and compliance with Mayo’s policies, labor laws, and government regulations. In partnership with the Chair, the Vice Chair leads the planning and implementation of the strategic goals and objectives of HR and translates them into meaningful and effective operational tactics. The Vice Chair leads the effort in continuous improvement and acts as a catalyst for realizing change, a facilitator and generator of new ideas, and as a mediator on complex issues. Facilitates values-aligned decision making among HR team.

This is an on-site position, required to be located on one of the following Mayo Clinic campuses: Rochester, MN; Phoenix, AZ; or Jacksonville, FL. Periodic business travel to other Mayo Clinic campuses will be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or other related subject. Ten years of progressive HR/Leadership experience is required. Healthcare experience preferred. A proven track record of strong performance, successful innovation, and leadership tenacity, as well as five years leading a team. Must have strong references and demonstrated competencies in working with teams in a dynamic environment, embracing/leading change, and taking calculated risks. Experience must include demonstrated agility in thinking and delivering/execution of work and strategic priorities. Master’s degree and relevant certification preferred.
