Description

Job Duties: Design and create technical drawings and prints to bring new concepts, components and equipment to life. Draft, survey, and interpret blueprints with the assistance of computer software. Work with the technical team on finding and consulting all technical alternatives and solutions related to any project in ERW plant and utilities. Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing, maintenance, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers. Work on investment projects, assist in choosing the best suppliers, and create budgets and timelines. Prepare technical specifications for purchase orders and contracts. Design and assist in manufacturing the new machine, processes, equipment & tools. Assist in implementing the annual investment plan in time and budget. Design complete plant layouts with multiple options by using Auto-Cad, 3D modeling. Design the assembly and manufacturing shop floor drawings of any type of project related to ERW machinery or equipment. Monitor any change related to equipment & tools and, if necessary, request corrections throughout the production cycle. Ensure the updated information related to equipment, tools and various documentations into the company’s ERP system. Keep and create the technical drawing archive for all plant’s machinery and equipment by keeping it up to date with versioning the drawings. Ensure deliverables are reasonable for project execution. Assist maintaining schedules through interaction with HSE, Operation, quality, and maintenance. Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components. Create and refine technical mechanical parts and assembly drawings to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the manufacturing goals of a project. Create and refine complex mechanical components including sourcing, volume models, key performance parameters, etc. Create and maintain a Bill of Materials for one or more projects. Create, control, and maintain release packages and design history files. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design or a related field and 5 years of experience in a CAD Designer-related occupation. Position also requires 5 years of experience with:

  • Equipment design, using CAD packages such as Inventor, Fusion 360, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, PTC Creo, and/or Unigraphics;
  • Equipment design in pipe industry applying knowledge of pipe manufacturing process (OTCG);
  • Understanding of pipe making process including pipe materials, and formation.
