As a Transport Courier Driver at Mercy Hospital, you will be responsible for safely transporting medical samples, supplies, mail and specimens to and from the hospital along a predetermined route. This position plays a critical role in hospital operations by ensuring that patients receive essential healthcare services in a timely manner. By facilitating the prompt transport of specimens, it helps ensure timely test results, which are vital for establishing appropriate and effective care plans.
A caregiver in this role works day/evening shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Conduct pick-up and delivery courier service for the Laboratory, Pharmacy, and other hospital departments.
- Maintain necessary statistical logs and reports.
- Adhere to schedule of courier service.
- Fills out and maintains necessary logs and reports.
- Understand public relations nature of job and strive to enhance hospital image.
- Communicate with department and other hospital personnel.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and good driving record (no more than 2 moving violations, or a serious violation, within a three-year period)
- Computer skills to use iPad and GPS
- Accurate with reporting
- Willingness to learn both driver and courier duties
- Previous courier or driving experience
Physical Demands:
- Medium work: Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally; and/or up to 20lbs frequently; and/or up to 10lbs constantly.
