Job Summary: The Payment Poster is responsible for accurately posting payments from insurance companies, patients, and other payers to client accounts in our behavioral health electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems. This role supports the organization's mission by ensuring financial accuracy and integrity in billing processes and contributes to the overall financial health of the practice. This position reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

Location: 140 E Town St Columbus, OH 43215 (remote option is available)

Job Summary: The Payment Poster is responsible for accurately posting payments from insurance companies, patients, and other payers to client accounts in our behavioral health electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems. This role supports the organization's mission by ensuring financial accuracy and integrity in billing processes and contributes to the overall financial health of the practice. This position reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately post daily payments, including EFTs, checks, and credit card transactions, into the practice management system.
- Reconcile deposit batches to EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), ERA (Electronic Remittance Advice), and bank statements.
- Review and analyze denials and partial payments, flagging issues for follow-up or reprocessing.
- Ensure correct application of contractual adjustments, co-pays, deductibles, and write-offs per payer guidelines.
- Maintain detailed and organized payment records.
- Work closely with billing staff and insurance follow-up team to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with patient account inquiries as needed.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of all client and financial information.
- Provide support on RCM projects and reporting as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in medical billing or payment posting, preferably in a behavioral health or mental health setting.
- Familiarity with EHR and billing systems (e.g., Carelogic or similar platforms).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Understanding of insurance payers (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial plans) and behavioral health coding preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug
