- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field of study and five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in safety, risk management or related field preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role.
- A minimum of three (3) years leadership, management or supervisory experience, required.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory laws and procedures related to general safety and risk management.
- Knowledge of environmental safety, life safety code, workers compensation insurance, and general risk assessment with the ability to implement/monitor organization programs for each.
- Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and how to apply them in a residential treatment environment.
- Proficient in data analysis, report writing, and information management systems.
- Must have the ability to develop and facilitate trainings associated with safety and risk management.
- Supervises the on-going Safety and Risk Management activities of the agency.
- Oversees the contractual security detail for the corporate campus (Enterprise).
- Reviews, develops and maintains safety and risk management policies and procedures that are in complaint with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Works with each member of senior leadership to develop internal methods of monitoring and evaluating safety and risk management.
- Prepares quarterly and annual summaries of aggregated findings related to organization safety and risk management activities.
- Facilitates safety and risk management trainings semi-annually or as needed.
- Conducts routine inspections of buildings, staff residences, company vehicles, and treatment cottages throughout the organization with a focus on safety and risk management.
- Facilitates yearly safety drills (e.g., evacuation, shelter-in-place, and active shooter drills, etc.) for each residential treatment location.
- Has oversight of the organizations fleet management program with the ability to recommend the disposal/discontinuation of vehicles, and the ability to recommend the purchase of replacement fleet vehicles.
- Develops safety corrective action plans when needed. Will conduct follow-up review to ensure that recommendations/changes were implemented.
- Exercises complete authority to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements as they relate to organizational Safety and Risk Management.
- Provides liaison guidance and assistance to all areas related to Safety and Risk Management for overall agency program coordination.
- Reviews and drafts policies and procedures when necessary. Provides staff and administration with the necessary information in order to update policies and procedures as needed.
- Presents training as necessary for safety & risk management and related topics.
- Assumes a lead role in internal worker’s compensation investigations related to injuries that result in compensation claims.
- Serves as liaison to city and county agencies in coordination of, health and fire inspections including Residing Hope’s emergency plan.
