Process Engineers in manufacturing are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the systems and processes used to produce goods efficiently, safely, and at high quality. Their main goal is to improve productivity, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product output.

A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

- Process Design & Optimization
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for efficiency, repeatability, and scalability.
- Evaluate and improve existing workflows, equipment, and layouts.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
- Identify problems on the production floor (e.g., quality issues, bottlenecks, downtime).
- Investigate and resolve root causes of process failures.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze process data (cycle times, yield rates, scrap, etc.).
- Use metrics to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
- Equipment & Tooling
- Work with engineers and vendors to select or modify machinery.
- Support new equipment installation and process validation.
- Process Documentation
- Write work instructions, process flow charts, control plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaboration Across Teams
- Partner with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams.
- Support cross-functional efforts like lean initiatives, Six Sigma projects, or ISO/AS9100 audits.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure processes comply with safety, environmental, and industry standards.
- Drive ergonomics and risk assessments on the floor
