The Position
Transportation Group Senior Project and Program Manager
This role is a critical part of the Genentech Transportation Group (branded as “gRide”) that provides multiple modes of transport to assist employees on their commute to and from work as well as within the campus throughout the day. Within gRide is the external facing suite of programs offered to the Oyster Point Business District, known as Oyster Point Mobility (OPM). At the heart of OPM are the bus and ferry share programs which carry hundreds of non-Genentech employees to work each day, significantly reducing congestion in the district.
This Project and Program Manager role will provide end-to-end ownership of the bus and ferry share program including daily operational support as well as be the lead project management resource for programs across the gRide suite. The Project and Program Manager will be an important member of the gRide team that works collaboratively to enhance and evolve all programs within the transportation portfolio. The role requires making recommendations on complex, cross-functional issues and requires close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Program Coordination and Optimization
Seamless execution and continuous improvement of organizational programs. This position involves developing and implementing detailed program plans and coordinating cross-functional teams to align activities with strategic objectives. The role monitors program progress, analyzes performance metrics, and identifies areas for enhancement to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
Account Management
Manage all aspects of current external partnerships, including bus and ferry share and shared transit, to ensure high level of engagement, quality, consistency, and efficiency. Develop strong partnerships within the Oyster Point community. Be consistently visible and available to current and future partners. This will include managing all aspects of outreach and partner development, demand planning, customer service, partner onboarding, training, program promotion, marketing, and communication.
Project Management
This role serves as a project manager across all Transportation programs (bus, ferry, vanpool, incentives, etc.) This role will lead and manage complex projects as assigned from start to finish, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines and budgets. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and accountability. Identify and resolve project issues and roadblocks promptly to deliver successful outcomes.
Data, Metrics, Reporting
Compile program and project data monthly and quarterly. Report metrics to gRide team and leadership.

Requirements:
This Program and Project Manager position requires a background in transportation or relevant operations management, logistics, urban planning, marketing, or related facilities management roles. Specific job requirements are:
- BS/BA or higher in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Facilities Planning, Marketing, Operations Management, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience. Desire at least 2 years of direct project/program management experience
- Demonstrated experience leading a performance-based, customer focused program using effective client relationship and collaboration skills to manage multiple business relationships
- Analytical skills - Capable of analyzing, synthesizing, and summarizing quantitative and qualitative data and translating such into high-impact learnings and opportunities
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills: proven abilities to work successfully and efficiently in cross-functional teams
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strategic thinking: ability to develop strategies aligned with goals and organizational vision
- Influence and Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Passion for continuous process improvement. Experience applying LEAN or other Operational Excellence methodology
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency using common business software applications such as the gSuite
