Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Full Cycle Purchasing & Supply Assurance: Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned materials and services (e.g., metal, packaging, chemicals, adhesives, sweeteners, flavoring, manufacturing supplies), from purchase order creation and issuance through delivery and invoice resolution. Proactively monitor and expedite ‘critical path’ orders, resolve delivery discrepancies, and address potential supply chain disruptions with a high sense of urgency to prevent manufacturing interruptions.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply, favorable terms, and effective communication.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with manufacturing and other internal departments to understand material requirements, develop specifications, and ensure purchasing activities align with business needs.
• Process Improvement & Data Analysis Support: Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems, actively supporting efforts to simplify manual workflows and reduce transactional interaction. Analyze spend data, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborate with the Finance team to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
• Risk Mitigation: Request and review necessary supplier documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and mitigate supply risks.
• Problem Solving: Act as a critical resource in troubleshooting and resolving complex supply challenges within a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university is strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of progressive purchasing experience in a supply chain or business role, with a strong preference for experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor Syteline, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is highly preferred.
• Certifications such as CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) or CPDW (Certified Professional in Distribution and Warehousing) are a plus.

• Proven ability to execute the full transactional purchasing cycle, ensuring seamless order placement, tracking, and delivery to maintain uninterrupted production supply.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-oriented approach to navigating and resolving supply chain challenges.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to analyze spend data, monitor supplier performance KPIs, and collaborate effectively with finance and other teams to identify and implement process and cost improvements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
