Description

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met.

Duties And Responsibilities

The role of the Food and Beverage Attendant is to be a key person of reference for guests while preparing and serving made to order food and beverage products in the hotel bistro.

Guest Relations Management

  • Be readily available and approachable for all guests.
  • Take proactive approached when dealing with guest’s concerns.
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.

Operations Management

  • Knows local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel.
  • Recognizes and reports potential safety hazards, such as broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.
  • Maintains physical product standards by following IHM and Brand standards.
  • Ensuring that the bistro service space remains well-stocked at all times.
  • Receiving food and beverage orders and directing these to the kitchen, as needed.
  • Providing customers with condiments upon request.
  • Resolving customers' queries and complaints.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping the floors after each service.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tables and countertops after each service.
  • Must be familiar with and able to follow all IHM and brand cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and serve classic and innovative drinks while following all company, local and state guidelines.
  • Helps validate customers’ IDs and monitors all beverage consumption in order to address severe intoxication.
  • Ability to follow brand and IHM standard operating procedures to prepare food and beverage items for serving to customers.
  • Ability to follow provided brand and IHM recipes when cooking food to serve guests.
  • Comply with standards as outlined in food and dish sanitation checklists.
  • Able to effectively follow financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories and receivables.

Qualifications Include

  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement.
  • Excellent communication, computer and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work both with a team and alone.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of how to operate all Food and Beverage equipment. Ability to solve basic equipment problems and/or who to contact for solution.

Working Conditions

Hotel team members are generally exposed to a variety of shifts that include a variety of hours, weekends, and holidays due to the 24-hour operation of a hotel. The common workplace environment in hotels involves high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and managers. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
