Position Summary & Responsibilities
The O.T. Data Analyst is a key contributor and SME in the Operations Technology program. This person will be a keep contributor in the development of new data driven solutions and expanding technical approaches to solving complex business problems with a data centric approach. Customers will range from field personnel to the boardroom.
The optimal applicant will have development experience in one or more relational database platforms, and will have experience developing and maintaining production facing visualization with tools such as Grafana, Power BI, Spotfire, Plotly. Strong analytical skills to support data analysis and integration efforts and great customer facing skills to support requirements gathering, visualization development and customer adoption.

Operational skillsets.
- Creating reports and dashboards that make complex data readily consumable.
- Creating data pipelines that automate the flow and transformation of data between key systems.
- Debugging and optimizing performance of queries, reports, dashboards, and data pipelines.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline issues, develop new data pipelines as needed.
- Develop and maintain processes to transform inbound data into standardized schemas.
- Work with source system owners to identify and correct data quality issues.
- Identify technical problems and work to resolve the issues, leveraging internal and external resources.
- Optimize and tune system performance, performing maintenance activities as required.
- Champion of change management, user acceptance testing, and validations.
- Collaboration with other IT and business subject matter experts to administer, support, and maintain technical solutions.
- Support business acquisition efforts via custom integrations for multiple sources on short timelines.
- Managing expectations appropriately and keep projects on schedule and within scope.
- Ability to reverse engineer existing solutions and be accountable for current state implementations.
- Seek to understand company data sources and operational processes.
- Automation skillset in one or more languages. Experience automating routine or mundane activities.
- Analyze and identify software or hardware systemic problems and work with the appropriate teams or vendors to create a solution to resolve the issue and engineer out the probability of it becoming a further problem.
- Independent research - the ability to dig into previous tickets, emails, documents, to research past solutions.
- Create detailed and abstract technical drawings and comprehensive system documentation.
- Business analysis skills. Ability to document swim lanes, data flow diagrams, and business process mapping.
- Ability to correlate and translate business needs to technical solutions.
- Ability to communicate recommendations effectively and propose changes.
- Implement and maintain application configuration database.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or a related combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to provide after-hours support when required.
- Desire to help others achieve success, interfaces well with others, and keen to assist and learn about areas outside assigned responsibilities.

- Ability to travel up to 10% including field visits with customers for requirements gathering and training.
- Understanding of common oil and gas business processes is a plus.
- Advanced capability to write SQL queries, manage ETL processes, and complex system integrations.
- Experience at creating SQL objects: stored procedures, triggers, rules, views, and user defined data types or functions.
- Experience with DB platforms such as Postgres Timescale, Snowflake, MSSQL, Oracle
- One or more language skills: Python, C#, PowerShell
- Ability to map system processes and create entity relationship diagrams.
- Experience developing customer facing visualizations using tools such as Grafana, PowerBI, Spotfire
- Familiarity with SCADA and IOT systems a plus
- Machine Learning and AI experience a plus
