Job Description

As the Director – Engineering, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for engineering teams and execute projects that align with company goals. You will implement and maintain overall engineering objectives and initiatives. You will play an active role in the development and completion of projects, collaborate with cross-functional senior leadership, plan and monitor work schedules and cash flows, and work with multiple and diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic oversight of engineering teams.
  • Designs engineering strategies.
  • Verifies project compliance with engineering best practices.
  • Drives growth for the Engineering capability through thought-leadership and client advisory.
  • Works effectively with product stakeholders to communicate and translate their needs into system requirements and software modules.
  • Applies data solutions across multiple business use case and problems.
  • Budgets and forecasts engineering expenditures for department.
  • Provides designs to meet certification requirements (UL, CSA, CHAdeMO, etc.)
  • Supervises, coaches, recruits, and mentors direct and indirect reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years required of engineering, including industrial, mechanical, or related
  • 5 years required of engineering management
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical regulations (UL etc)
  • Knowledge of engineering theory, principles and practices and their application
  • Ability to use multiple design engineering software (Pro-E, Autocad, etc.)
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex mechanical and electrical applications
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment including crimp tools, oscilloscopes, punches, amp meters, HI pot testers, and other electrical and mechanical tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Compensation Details: $136,954 - $239,670 Annually

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may also include participation in a bonus or sales compensation plan paid according to achievement against sales targets and/or business objectives. Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
