Description

Observe and maintain safety requirements

Excellent knowledge of environmental analytical laboratory instrumentation

Proficient in LIMS & CDS system usage

Review and support wastewater analytical needs for Lummus Technology and their customers

Perform laboratory evaluations for wastewater Lummus Technology and help identify the best solutions

Support & perform wastewater data analysis for Lummus Technology

Perform laboratory-based experiments according to company protocols and standardized methodology, develop new methods and procedures, and perform data analysis

Responsible for identifying the analytical challenges regarding Lummus technology wastewater division, providing technical answers and implementing them

Work closely with other members of Lummus Analytical Services group and management on issues relating to the development of products, support of existing technology and the ongoing provisioning of technical expertise.

Develop laboratory methods and procedures that lead toward improved technology and application development

Maintain high customer satisfaction for Lummus

Some supervisory experience a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Analytical chemistry technical knowledge:
    • Chromatography (GC, SFC, HPLC, IC)
    • Spectroscopy (FTIR, UV/VIS)
    • Titration (KF, RSH, Br #)
    • EPA and SM proficiency
    • QA/QC
    • Method development
    • LIMS
    • CDS
    • PFAS
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills together with the ability to effectively manage project deliverables
  • Self-motivated and having demonstrated experience working with multiple internal customers and associated time management skills
  • Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Standard lab protocols

  • Computer skills - spreadsheet, word processing, graphics presentation generation

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Chemistry undergraduate degree required (minimum)
  • 10-year environmental analytical chemistry laboratory experience required
  • Must have advanced knowledge of wastewater analytical methodology
  • Experience in gaseous emissions analysis preferred
  • Must have analytical method development experience
  • Must have knowledge of standardized methodology – EPA, ASTM specifically
  • Must be able to learn new analytical instrumentation as necessary
  • Must be able to speak convincingly with technical managers and production people concerning objectives, chemistries in use, and equipment operation
  • Must have basic knowledge of engineering
