About The Job
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Technical Editor/Document Specialist (TED) to assist with editing and formatting proposal documents, client reports, social media posts, and marketing/communications materials. As a Technical Editor/Document Specialist, you will support the Tepa Companies nationwide, which includes the Construction, Engineering & Environment, Industrial, and Technologies business lines. The TED reviews documents to ensure formatting complies with solicitation/client requirements, proofreads for correct grammar and spelling, and ensures consistency with Tepa’s Identity & Style Guide. In addition, the position assists in editing and updating information on Tepa’s Data Asset Management (DAM) platform.
The successful TED candidate will work independently and in collaboration with proposal teams, marketing/communications and project staff, and subject matter experts to edit, format, and create compliant and accurate technical documents and reports. You will play an essential role in ensuring the content of Tepa Companies' written and electronic documents speak with one consistent, professional Tepa voice. Moreover, you will be increasing and continuing to build your skills and abilities through the development, formatting, and editing of complex technical documents and reports. This position is supported by an experienced editorial team, including Technical Editors, Proposal Managers, Project Managers, and subject matter experts.

Job Functions:
- Work with proposal documents, marketing/communications materials, and reports for federal, state, municipal, tribal, and private sector clients in the fields of construction, industrial services, architecture, engineering, environment, and technologies
- Utilize Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator) to edit, format, and manage documents
- Work independently and in collaboration with the proposal teams, subject matter experts, project managers, marketing/communications team, and technical personnel to edit and format document and report content
- Communicate via email, instant messaging, phone, video, and in person to clarify and gather information
- Support information updates on the Tepa’s DAM platform in OpenAsset
- Review documents with attention to detail in order to maintain continuity of document sound and style based on the Tepa Identity & Style Guide
- Meet with Tepa personnel to review documents on final submission or publication
- Review/edit grammar, spelling, formatting and consistency, as required in documents and reports
- Follow instructions based on solicitation and team needs when reviewing, editing, and formatting documents
- Discuss lessons learned with team members based on document reviews
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, business, or relevant technical editing experience
- 2+ years of experience creating, developing, formatting, and editing proposal documents, collateral marketing/communications materials, social media posts, and client reports
- Experience working alone and in a collaborative team environment to edit and format documents
- Proficient skills utilizing Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator) to create, format, and edit documents and reports
- Ability to work in a high-volume (multiple documents/reports) deadline-driven environment
- 2+ years of experience working with documents for federal, state, municipal, tribal, and private sector markets
- Construction, industrial, architecture, engineering, environment, or technologies industry editing experience
- Experience working in the federal business market and familiarity with federal procurement
