Job Responsibilities

This advertisement is recruiting to fill two vacant positions.

Under limited supervision, performs investigative work for the Internet Crimes Against Children Section, including investigating CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and conducting investigations involving the sexual exploitation and solicitation of minors.

  • Works to investigate CyberTipline reports received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), focusing on those that cannot be referred to outside agencies.
  • Collaborates closely with ICAC staff both inside the office and statewide during investigations into minors' sexual exploitation and solicitation.
  • Handles complaints, inquiries, or violations related to Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC); conducts surveillance of businesses, residences, and individuals; reviews accounts and records; and assists prosecutors in preparing for trial.
  • Prepares investigative reports for office administration and ICAC prosecutors, and testifies in court regarding their investigation findings.
  • Occasionally presents to law enforcement and the public.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and fifteen years or more as a law enforcement officer with experience conducting investigations and/or other law enforcement duties; a bachelor's degree can substitute for four years of experience.

Necessary Requirement: Class I Law Enforcement Certification. or another state's equivalent certification.

Additional Requirements

  • This position may require overnight travel.
  • Employee may be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • The position requires a valid driver's license and frequent driver duties.
  • Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending.
  • The position requires up-to-date certification(s).
  • Positions may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
  • The position may be required to travel and transport files.
  • Presentations to law enforcement and the public.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have experience developing and maintaining good working relationships with multiple law enforcement agencies.
  • Must have good verbal and written skills and be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be well-organized with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
