Description

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials through the warehouse/Inventory Department and production line. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the materials used in their assigned department, proficient in real-time inventory reconciliation, and able to communicate effectively with production leads and procurement teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read and understand basic shop drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to the appropriate stations within the production line.
  • Inventory Management: Perform real-time reconciliation of inventory at the assigned station, ensuring accurate counts of available materials.
  • Returns & Damaged Materials: Process return and damaged materials according to company procedures, and update inventory systems accordingly.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on actual material usage compared to purchased materials, identifying discrepancies and potential waste.
  • Communication: Collaborate with department leads and procurement teams to communicate material needs for production, ensuring timely orders and replenishments.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) to manage inventory data, generate reports, plan reading and communicate with team members.
  • Shop Drawings: Interpret and understand basic shop drawings to ensure correct materials are used in the production process.
  • Organization: Maintain a well-organized workspace, ensuring materials are stored safely and in a manner that promotes efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role within a warehouse or production environment.
  • Familiarity with materials specific to the assigned department.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and interpret basic shop drawings.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.

Work Environment

  • Standing and moving for extended periods.
  • Handling heavy materials in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working in a team-focused, collaborative environment.

Pay Range: PW1/$24.20 - PW2/$26.20 per hour
