About Us

Ediphi offers the most comprehensive cloud-based estimating and preconstruction solution on the market. Our goal is to reduce the time spent in preconstruction, enabling projects to break ground more quickly and estimators to feel more confident in their work.

We started when Michael Navarro, an estimating pro at Suffolk, knew there was a better way than relying on spreadsheet nightmares. He began creating a solution built by estimators, for estimators. He teamed up with Dustin DeVan, founder of BuildingConnected (acquired by Autodesk for $275 million), to launch Ediphi in 2023. With a $12M Series A round led by Norwest Venture Partners and with ongoing participation from Suffolk Technologies, Ediphi continues to grow as a SaaS offering for General Contractors around the country.

About This Role

At Ediphi, we’re building a diverse team of engineers from all backgrounds who share similar values to ours. If you don’t feel you check all the experiences and qualifications we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply!

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our collaborative, high-impact Data team. You’ll work closely with our CTO and feature teams on our Excel add-in, which helps customers generate board-ready reports. In this role, you’ll build the “last mile” layer that transforms structured backend data into well-formatted Excel spreadsheets. You’ll shape 2D arrays, map columns, and apply business logic to define how users interact with exported reports. It’s a high-impact, high-visibility role on a team that ships weekly.

This role requires technical experience in TypeScript and React (or similar modern web technologies), strong data manipulation comfort, and a desire to foster collaboration and drive outcomes in a startup environment. We’re also highly prioritizing candidates with Microsoft Office JavaScript API experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement end-to-end features within our Microsoft Excel add-in application, which is built in TypeScript
  • Keep the add-in application current with new features shipped in the core app and own a steady cadence of weekly releases
  • Shape raw data into structured formats that render seamlessly in Microsoft Excel via OfficeJS
  • Build new report types and chart visualizations within our add-in application
  • Diagnose and fix production bugs, then harden against regressions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback, fostering continuous improvement and a culture of learning and growth
  • Identify and resolve edge cases that could cause miscalculations or data anomalies in our data transformations and ensure stability under all user scenarios

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum of 2+ years of full-stack development experience
  • Experience with Microsoft’s Office JavaScript API, or a willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform data transformations for the frontend and Excel consumption
  • Attention to detail and a mindset geared toward risk prevention and correctness in user-facing outputs, where user trust hinges on data reliability
  • Proficiency in our tech stack (Node, React, Typescript, and Postgres) or a similar modern web technology stack
  • Empathy for the user experience and product quality
  • Experience working with agile, collaborative teams
  • The ability to thrive in a remote-first culture

What is Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Material UI
  • Built or integrated chatbots / AI copilots into a front-end product

Why take on this role?

  • Opportunity for real impact: Help shape the culture, direction, and success of a fast-moving startup.
  • Supportive leadership team: Work with experienced leaders who prioritize your growth and well-being.
  • Competitive compensation, equity, and growth potential: Be part of something big, where your contributions have an outsized impact, both professionally and financially.
  • Change an industry while improving how people work: Don’t take our word for it, check out what our customers say about Ediphi.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Unlimited PTO (and we actually encourage you to use it)
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • A phenomenal, remote-first team that deeply cares about creating great products
