Who We Serve

North Bay Regional Center provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. North Bay Regional Center is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

POSITION

The Accountant provides information to management by researching and analyzing financial data. Under the direction of the Controller, the Accountant performs a wide variety of accounting, fixed asset, audit, and IT inventory control and accounts payable tasks as assigned. This position is responsible for implementation and oversight of special projects assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or Controller.

Responsibilities

The Accountant position is a technical level position that is responsible for accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory control and general ledger activities. You will work with information that must be maintained as confidential. Responsibilities include bank reconciliation, processing of operations checks, maintenance of various tracking and statistical reports in addition to being responsible for oversight and completion of special assignments. The Accountant performs assignments with limited supervision and provides back-up to the Controller.

Responsibilities include making calculations and preparing summary reports; processing Operations checks; downloading cashed check files from the bank; daily cashed check input; reviewing purchase orders; maintaining accounts payable files and maintaining in-coming check logs. Additional responsibilities are assisting with the daily bank deposit; maintaining computer output files and collecting statistical information. As back up to the Controller, you will prepare and monitor records for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Two years of professional accounting experience and completion of a BS Degree from an accredited university in accounting or a related field.

Minimum qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).

Knowledge And Abilities

Knowledge of accounting principles and integration with computer systems; ability to audit computer transactions/reports for errors and completeness; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including the ability to use complex spreadsheets and databases; ability to express well verbally and in writing; the ability to learn procedures of computerized accounting systems is required.

Bi-lingual Language Differential

Salary Range

$67,644 – $74,592 with opportunities for 5% increases annually
