Job Summary

The Community Access Specialist provides outreach, education and support to reduce barriers to healthcare access for individuals, families, and groups in the community. This is accomplished by identifying and building relationships with organizations who serve communities experiencing health disparities. Activities include: outreach and engagement, connecting people with resources, providing culturally appropriate health education, facilitating listening sessions and advocating for community needs. The Community Access Specialist provides support with insurance enrollment. This position will link community members to ICHS services/clinics and will link existing ICHS patients to additional services lines when appropriate. This role needs a high degree of public engagement and advocacy with the communities that ICHS supports.

Education - Associate's Degree, two (2) years continuous and relevant experience can be substituted for degree.

Experience - One (1) year in community outreach, advocacy, and/or education.

Other Requirement(s) - Bilingual in Spanish and English speaker is strongly preferred, duo to the needs of our client/communty base. Ability to travel within the Seattle area as needed. Valid Driver's License and Proof of Insurance required, if applicable.
