JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for one or more candidates to join our team as an Associate Attorney. A law school degree and Virginia Bar membership are required; Maryland or D.C. Bar membership is a plus. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing skills, ability to multi-task and handle deadlines without constant supervision, and be possessed of good interpersonal skills. Job duties will include all aspects of case management, including client intake, case investigation and preparation, case evaluation, drafting pleadings, discovery and deposition work, motions practice, and handling trials. A strong desire to advocate on behalf of our clients is a must. This is a full time position, that could occasionally entail weekend and evening work. A reminder: if you do not have a Virginia Bar membership, then you will not be considered for this position!
COMPENSATION: Base salary ranges from $75-100,000, plus reachable monthly performance bonuses, and participation bonuses for business brought to the firm. Other benefits include: PTO, BCBS health insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, and a professional development budget.

- Virginia Bar admission required - other Bar admissions (DC and MD) helpful!
- Familiarity with civil procedure
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working as part of a motivated team at all levels
- Ability to learn under a 40-year veteran of the legal profession
- Ability to litigate cases in General District Court and Circuit Court
- Will receive continual training and guidance to develop as a professional litigator
- Use of a simple file management system
- Direction of associated staff members / working with trained office support personnel
- Getting assistance in legal article publication/writing
