DDL, Inc. is seeking a motivated and driven Sales Engineer to join our Product & Materials team! As a P&M Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and building strong relationships with our valued customers. We offer a flexible work environment where after completing the training program, you'll have the option to enjoy a remote or hybrid work arrangement.

Compensation & Benefits

This position has a starting base salary range of $70,000-$100,000 (based on experience) with potential to earn a total compensation of $130K - $140K at target plus comprehensive benefits package.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

As a Product & Materials Sales Engineer, you will have a direct impact on driving growth through selling and promoting DDL’s Product & Materials service division. The P&M division represents DDL’s functional, mechanical and physical testing capabilities governed by various ISO, ASTM, IEC and USP compendia standards. You will apply technical, organizational and industry knowledge to influence customers, understand the testing requirements based on product type and manage the entire sales cycle resulting in revenue generation. In addition, you will provide input and participate in the marketing, market planning and technical development of P&M testing services.

DDL’s target customers for our P&M services are medical devices and biopharmaceuticals companies.

  • Sell and promote DDL’s Product and Material testing services leveraging technical knowledge to successfully achieve bookings and revenue goals.
  • Prospect and generate new opportunities and new client accounts in assigned territory.
  • Engage customers’ management to position DDL services and convince them of the value we offer and how we can save them time/money achieving regulatory approval.
  • Work cross functionally with external customers, DDL engineering and DDL quality to determine which testing standards best apply to a medical device, delivery system or combination product.
  • Demonstrates to potential customers how and why services would suit customer needs better than competition.
  • Train to be conversational in other testing services in order to cross sell / refer opportunities to other DDL divisions i.e. package testing and container closure integrity testing.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals to communicate how DDL’s services and quality meet customer objectives and satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a sales pipeline effectively within our CRM platform according to Director of Sales’ expectations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or science related field
  • 2-5 years’ experience in an engineering setting, technical sales, or laboratory environment within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Sales experience is not required; however, you should be able to demonstrate commercial drive with sales aptitude.
  • Knowledge of medical device and combination product technologies and applications associated with devices.
  • Ability to apply engineering, scientific and mathematical principles and practices to address circumstances that the individual may experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effectively generate and deliver technical presentations.
