Position Summary

Hanna is looking for a UX designer with hands-on experience in e-commerce. This role is ideal for someone who’s naturally curious, asks questions, and doesn’t get stuck when things feel ambiguous. A well-developed sense of empathy for the customer goes a long way; everything from minor optimizations to big-picture funnel thinking matters.

A solid foundation in visual design, user interfaces, and UX thinking is key, along with an eye for clean, pixel-perfect execution. Data-driven decisions are guided by a collaborative mindset and a desire to develop, which is essential for success.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Design and deliver site design solutions with wireframes, visual comps and prototypes, across mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Develop and iterate wireframes and prototypes from initial conception to final delivery while ensuring delivery is timely and aligned with key milestones.
  • Apply user experience best practices including iterative prototypes, mobile-first experiences, conversion-optimized layouts, and hypothesis-driven explorations.
  • Ensure a polished, high-quality visual aesthetic across all deliverables by applying consistent design language, attention to detail, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Conduct usability studies, analyze the results, and incorporate the learnings into solutions.
  • Work as a reliable, cross-functional partner with product management, development, content, and marketing teams to align design solutions for both technical and business needs.
  • Effectively present and communicate design decisions and rationale to internal teams and external partners, incorporating feedback while advocating for user-centered solutions.
  • Deliver finalized screen designs with clearly articulated functionalities and design elements defined.
  • Support and build a roadmap of short-term focus areas and communicate the rationale for their priority and business impact.
  • Develop a working knowledge of our internal IT systems and platforms that will influence your designs while incorporating technical considerations and constraints into your design solutions.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, Agile environment while demonstrating your flexibility and ability to prioritize.

Qualifications

  • 3 -7 years of UX/UI website design in-house or agency design experience in digital or equivalent, focused on digital products
  • A Bachelor's degree in design or a related field, or equivalent interactive work experience
  • A portfolio that highlights mobile-first polished design tied to user journeys, with clear documentation for development partners
  • Robust skills in Figma
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (coding not required)
  • Proficient, clean visual design sense
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization of PLPs (Product Listing Pages).
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Knowledge/experience with UX resources and best practices like Baymard Institute or Nielsen Norman Group

$80,000 - $92,000 a year

Location: Portland, OR (hybrid) preferred, open to remote (west coast)
