Job Description

The Senior Coordinator, under direction, provides career advising, planning, and programming to students and meets with staff within the program area. Conducts routine meetings with faculty and College administration, develops programming beyond workshops and class presentations, and takes on greater responsibility for center-wide projects as they relate to specific program areas.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes programs to provide professional development opportunities to students and establishes career services within the school, including personal skill development, resume, portfolio, and interview/networking skills.
  • Interacts with employers at events on campus, as well as at conferences, to identify new employers to invite to the fair. Designs website, registration, and payment pages. Negotiates space, set-up, and catering needs for the fair and meets with advisors and faculty representatives when planning the fair.
  • Advises students in areas of career planning and job search skills/techniques and participates in walk-in advising and career fair advising.
  • Coordinates student, advisor, and faculty volunteers. Actively market events to employers and students. Creates and conducts workshops, class presentations, class announcements, and resume outreach events. Leads presentations highlighting services and special programs available for students. Meets regularly with advisors, select faculty, and administration within the College or program area to provide information about services and progress throughout the year.
  • Oversees professional development and career service delivery events to bring external professionals onto campus or to designated events that will be used to train and build professional career development.
  • Creates annual reports for faculty and administration within the program area as needed. Creates and submits special programs to be presented at regional and national conferences as appropriate.
  • Compiles and distributes periodicals, career-related books, and other hardcopy and electronic resources that provide information regarding career options for students within assigned program area.
  • Develops new resources for students within assigned program area. Maintains assigned program area’s portion of the website and develops new content annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

Salary: $45,000.00

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Work Location: This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
