The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

New Day Residential is a 5-bed psychiatric facility serving adolescent females who are residents of NJ between the ages of 15 and 21. Services are voluntary.

The program model is designed to respond to the needs of significantly traumatized youth who have severe behavioral and emotional disturbances. Youths admitted into the program demonstrate an array of behaviors that include, but are not limited to, impulse control, anger outbursts, assaultive behaviors, self-harming acts, and oppositional behaviors.

An array of specialized treatment are incorporated into the trauma-focused model, including Sexually Reactive Behavior and/or Fire-Setting Specific Treatment. Comprehensive family treatment is done when applicable, which may include psycho-educational, group, and clinical family sessions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least three years of work experience working with children and adolescents
  • Experience in crisis management
  • Unencumbered current driver's license
  • Clean drivers license record as determined by the employer and is also validated by the NJMVA

Preferred

  • B.A. Degree

Scheduling Requirements

  • Shift working, varies 7-3pm/3-11pm/11-7am
  • Per Diem (PD)

Essential Functions

  • Supervise residents throughout the shift
  • Participate in and lead program activities at the direction/discretion of management
  • Document the daily log book on pertinent resident information
  • Provide psycho-educational groups, as directed by management
