Job Overview: We are a leading private orthopedic group operating two state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) and associated outpatient orthopedic clinics. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Executive Director of Ambulatory Surgery Services to oversee operations across both ASCs and affiliated ambulatory clinic services. This executive leadership role will focus on optimizing patient care delivery, enhancing operational performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning business goals with the practice’s long-term vision.

Schedule/Type: FT, exempt - onsite/salary
Wage: $145,000 – $190,000 per year , commensurate with experience

Essential Duties:
Work Environment: Ambulatory surgery centers and convalescent care center. Well-lighted, well-ventilated, adequate space. May be exposed to contagious diseases and other patient-related conditions. Occasional evening and weekend work.
Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with an Executive Director of Ambulatory Surgical Services, which involves 70 percent sitting and 30 percent walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds and stooping.

Requirements
Essential Duties:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for two musculoskeletal ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), aligning operations with organizational growth and quality objectives.
- Serve as a key liaison between surgeons, clinical staff, administration, and executive leadership to ensure clear communication and collaboration.
- Oversee daily operations of both ASCs, including operating room utilization, scheduling, staffing, and supply chain management to maximize efficiency.
- Manage business office functions such as billing, collections, coding, and revenue cycle performance to ensure financial health and sustainability.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, analyze financial performance, and implement cost-effective strategies in partnership with the finance team.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards including CMS, OSHA, NSHN, HIPAA, and AAAHC/Joint Commission requirements.
- Lead accreditation and licensing processes while promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
- Actively participate in QAPI and MAC committees and oversee the patient satisfaction survey process and response planning.
- Foster strong relationships with surgeons and providers to support case volume growth and new service line development.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor high-performing clinical and administrative staff, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Provide operational support to affiliated physician practices, including staffing, scheduling, and EHR optimization for coordinated care delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in ASC or outpatient surgical services management required.
- Experience managing multiple sites or surgical centers strongly preferred.
- Orthopedic practice management experience, including physician office operations and billing, highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven financial acumen and ability to drive performance through data and metrics.
- Knowledge of ASC and practice management operations, administration, and workflows.
- Familiarity with federal and state requirements for surgery centers, including safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
- Understanding of quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement standards.
- Proficient in time management and prioritization across multiple competing demands.
- Skilled in full-cycle human resource management, from recruitment through performance evaluation.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities to engage effectively with all stakeholders
- Ability to analyze operational and financial data to make strategic decisions.
- Ability to confidently present information to executive leadership, public groups, and internal teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and physician partners to improve performance and outcomes.
