The William Paterson University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation is an integral part of the University’s overall mission to provide its students with a comprehensive educational experience, one that stresses the importance of academic, personal, emotional, social and physical development. As a part of the University’s Division of Student Development the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has long been a source of pride for the entire campus community, thanks to the Pioneers' outstanding achievements on and off the competitive fields of play. Currently sponsoring 13 NCAA Division III teams (baseball, men's and women's basketball, field hockey, football, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's tennis, women's volleyball), William Paterson is a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, one of the most competitive leagues in the nation. At William Paterson, each individual is encouraged and inspired to achieve as a scholar, citizen and athlete. The development of critical life-long values such as hard work, fair play, honesty, integrity, cooperation, leadership and teamwork will help you become not only a successful student-athlete, but also a champion in the game of life.
Assists with implementation of care, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Provides coverage of athletic practices and contests. Communicates with student athletes, coaching staff, and healthcare providers about injuries and treatment protocol. Maintains necessary documentation of records including but not limited to: injury reports, daily rehab logs, and injury evaluations. Assists with the daily operation of athletic training facilities. Assists with the oversight of the pre-participation medical clearance process. Develops and maintains working relationships with athletics administration, coaching staff and student athletes as it relates to care of student athletes. Oversees the athletic training supply inventory and assists with re-ordering supplies. Assists with the maintenance of athletic training equipment. Assists in the supervision of the athletic training students, and serves as a Preceptor for the clinical requirements of the academic program. Attends meetings and workshops as required. Complies with all NCAA, NJAC, HIPPA and OSHA regulations, policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.

- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position required, Master’s degree preferred.
- BOC certification and current New Jersey State licensure.
- Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid.
- Two years of athletic training experience; athletic training experience at the collegiate level and experience with football preferred.
