To meet product as it arrives at the loading dock, receive it safely, assure invoice accuracy and get those products onto the shelf or to the appropriate department. To coordinate the orderly, timely and accurate receipt of all stock except produce. To work with Grocery Operations manager to achieve departmental goals through effective receiving procedures. To ensure excellent presentation of center store grocery departments.

- Communicate the ‘cooperative advantage’ and the value of ownership to shoppers and staff
- Ensure product related customer comments receive a timely response.
- Facilitate strong and supportive relationships with co-workers in the retail stores.
- Review feedback from customers and other staff.
- Complete timely and accurate reports
- Core Functions
- Communicate with department manager about daily activities, needs and challenges.
- Report performance issues to department manager in a way that is immediate, respectful, and consistent.
- Ensure on the job training for all department staff.
- To perform supervisory role within the department in partnership with and in the absence of the department manager.
- Coordinate returns, credits, and data entry of invoices suppliers where applicable.
- Coordinate inter-store transfers of goods
- Assist department manager with ordering, receiving, and pricing of all products.
- Ensure department and receiving areas are clean and organized
- Ensure that all department equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Receive and process orders, checking condition of product and invoice accuracy.
- Prepare items for stocking, stock, rotate, merchandise and face product according to procedure.
- Maintain backstock areas according to department standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer service type of employment
- Strong organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail, safety and customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise and motivate staff
- Demonstrated ability to implement and assess systems to provide for efficient and productive operations
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork and constant
- communication is essential
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge and proficient, safe operation of a forklift
- Ability to operate other equipment within the department
- Ability to stand or walk for duration of shift.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladder.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height frequently.
