Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott LLP (PBFCM) has an immediate opening for an entry-level Litigation File Clerk in our Houston office.
PBFCM has been in business since 1970. We represent more than 2000 governmental entities in Texas school districts, cities, counties, hospital districts, appraisal districts, and special districts. We have grown steadily every year. We currently have 15 offices across Texas with over 50 attorneys and more than 400 employees. Founded on the principles of honesty and ethical conduct our success is due to our refusal to deviate from these core values.
We are looking for an organized File Clerk to do file management and maintenance. You will organize paperwork according to an efficient filing system and digitalize all important documents. You will be expected to protect and update files as well as make them easily accessible to your colleagues.
A file clerk must be organized and possess a serious understanding of confidentiality and data protection. The ideal candidate will be skilled in computers and detail oriented. The goal is to manage large amounts of e-file documents and litigation files effectively.

Essential Job Functions
- Check incoming documents from e-filing system (pleadings, hearing notices, discovery, etc.).
- Sort all papers alphabetically and according to content, dates, significance etc.
- Create or update litigation files and client files with new files and information
- Input data to litigation files re: case info, party and subject information
- Store all documents in designated places securing the important documents
- Enter paperwork into an electronic system either by data entry or by using optical scanners
- Deal with all requests to access files and keep logs of borrowed papers
- Follow policies and confidentiality dictations to safeguard data and information
- Additional clerical or administrative duties, as needed or assigned
- Proven experience as file clerk
- Knowledge of filing systems
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Good knowledge of MS Office and office equipment such as photocopier, scanner etc.
- Good command of English both oral and written
- Dependable with respect to confidentiality and policies
- Excellent organizational skills
