The Vice President of Technology is responsible for the strategic vision, implementation, and governance of the credit union’s technology ecosystem, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, and digital innovation. This role ensures alignment between technology initiatives and organizational goals, fosters a culture of security and innovation, and provides executive leadership in risk management, vendor strategy, and regulatory compliance. The VP chairs the Technology Steering Committee and represents the credit union on critical matters related to information security, digital transformation, and regulatory engagement.

- Lead the development and execution of the credit union’s enterprise technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on emerging technologies and digital opportunities.
- Chair the Technology Steering Committee and serve on the Cyber Incident Response Team and Information Security Committee.
- Create and report success metrics related to project implementation, system performance, and information security posture.
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and testing of the Information Security Program in accordance with NIST, FFIEC, PCI DSS, and NCUA standards.
- Oversee cybersecurity incident response planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing.
- Serve as primary liaison to auditors, regulators, and examiners for all technology-related reviews.
- Maintain and manage cyber liability insurance and ensure compliance with its terms.
- Oversee all IT operations, including Infrastructure Management, Cybersecurity, Digital File Services, Development, and IT Asset Management.
- Ensure the availability, integrity, and security of critical systems and data analytics environments.
- Monitor technology lifecycle and prepare budget forecasts for infrastructure, licensing, and vendor contracts.
- Lead and develop a high-performing IT team; manage recruitment, development, and performance reviews.
- Build a culture of ethical decision-making, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Manage third-party vendor relationships and perform due diligence in line with regulatory expectations.
- Represent the credit union in regulatory, community, and industry forums focused on information security and financial technology.
- Monitor and report cybersecurity status and trends to the board of directors annually.
- Master’s Degree (e.g., MBA, M.S. in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field) from an accredited institution OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to a graduate degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information technology leadership, including strategic planning, project execution, and team management.
- Experience in financial services, credit unions, or regulated industries preferred.
- Proven expertise in IT infrastructure (on-premise/cloud), security frameworks, vendor management, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing complex IT environments and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of data governance, digital transformation, and risk management best practices.
- Preferred certifications CISSP, CISM, CRISC, PMP, or equivalent experience.
